What we did the past two days
More testing, extending, and cleanup of the code based on test results.
Conference call with one of our payment providers on their next API plans.
Shifting gears to give a little time to my friends at Hourglass Books and Save-A-Vet, today and in the next few days. Both need some consistent attention.
Also, had a job interview with On Earth Peace for my peacebuilder calling.

What we did the past two days
Kept testing, adjusting, and extending the code based on test results.
Also added boilerplate pages like privacy, terms, faq, etc. Keeping it real.

What we did the past three days
Coding so hard it hurts. Reached my goal of going live by NFL Draft Day.
In startups, every finish line is another starting line. Living in the blur of testing, adding, adjusting, etc. — based on the experience of actually using the product.
Very tired. Very happy with how it’s shaping up. Now, we need people to use it!

What we did yesterday
Finished the logic and coding for the givby activities feed.
It will be a snap to add new activity types as we roll out.

What we did yesterday
Made a lot of progress on the feed. Each time I add another level of complexity to the app, I reduce the code to another level of simplicity. The more functionality we add, the less redundant code we retain. It’s how I roll.
Did some more work for Save-A-Vet, and met our new dog Nellie. Sweet!

What we did yesterday
Made some more progress on the payment processor API’s, discovered how I want to handle the interior pages (for now, until we have a designer), and began work on the feed for givby activities — how people inspire and learn from each other.
We are now five weeks out from port. On track to launch next week!

What we did yesterday
Made some more progress on the payment processor API, but ran up against my inexperience with one final step on capturing the access token to save in the database. Meanwhile, started working with a second payment processor.
The reason we are using two is because the second one has no setup requirements — people can pay instantly, with their credit cards or bank accounts. This will be the default for convenience oriented donors.
The other is much lower cost — meaning more of your donation dollar(s) will go to the charity. We will offer this for more value oriented donors. It will be interesting to see how many make the choice to go through the setup.
Also, was busy with Save-A-Vet.org because we are rescuing two more dogs this week. Here is MWD Ornela, who we got from Homeland Security Border Patrol.

What we did yesterday
Nothing. Worked on taxes and bill payments. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
